Using Kindle or Ibooks

Robber Fly Asilidae Possibly Dasypogoninae sp. Sandstone Escarpment

Using Kindle or Ibooks

Pretty frustrating. Amazon appears to be so concerned that I might copy a book that clippings has been disabled with Kindle and I am not able to save highlighted text. Notes might be able to be saved if I use the premium Evernote app. Ibook is equally lame with only a workaround involving search and very little text, or emailing notes if the SSL allows me to connect to an email program. Not very collab orientated!! Getting books quickly is a bonus. A screen capture app could be useful..Still early days.

TPACK and SAMR

Corymbia dunlopiana

TPACK and SAMR

After reading about TPACK and SAMR, the SAMR framework looks much easier to use. Looking at my past uses I would have to say the majority were either substitution or augmentation style of lessons. I did use Scratch and Adobe Flash with students and those lessons were more modifications, especially with non-linear presentations. Perhaps incorporating TPACK during planning would ensure I was better aligned to curriculum outcomes and make sure I was more up-to-date on delivery ideas.

Dr Ruben Puentedura's pod-casts

Week One: / Dr Ruben Puentedura's pod-casts

I have been listening to Dr Ruben Puentedura's pod-casts re: TPCK & SAMR. He questions if the technology tools which are selected are well suited to the tasks. I often think I select the tool and then make the content fit.Perhaps using the TPCK framework will help me make choices which fit the task better or allow for greater flexibility in exploring all levels of the SAMR model.
